Wanda Jo Rankin, 83, of Canadian went to be with Jesus, Friday, July 30, 2021, in Canadian.
Graveside Services will be 10:30 am, Monday, August 2, 2021, at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery, with Bo Rankin and Charlie Rankin, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.
Wanda Jo was born to Art and Josephine White on August 5, 1937, in Odessa. Her mother passed away on September 2, 1938, and she and her brother, Jim, were raised by their grandparents, David and Posey Wilson of Perryton, they were who Wanda called “Mom and Dad”. Wanda attended school in Canadian. She married James Rankin on April 7, 1956. She was a hard worker and as a parent, she was always there for her children and family. Wanda was thoughtful and considerate of people, though you always knew where you stood. She had a heart and an understanding for those who were hurting or struggling with life; she understood human nature. Wanda was a gardener and enjoyed growing flowers and yard work. The morning she stepped into her new life her “Naked Ladies” were in full bloom. As a woman of faith, Wanda loved her church and church family and cared about their wellbeing. Unfortunately, she became a frequent patient at the hospital where she considered many as a second family, and thus they endured the advice and lecturing which she lovingly provided. Wanda will be missed by many.
