Steven Michal Cockrell passed into his heavenly home on September 9, 2024.
Graveside Services will be 10:30 am Saturday, October 5, 2024 in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery with Rev Rick Timmons and Pastor Josh Reeves, officiating. Notification of services will be on Facebook.
Steven Michal Cockrell was born November 30, 1979, in Canadian. He attended high school in Sterling City. Steve was a star football player, making all District, both in offence and defense, 3 years in a row. He then played semi-pro football in San Angelo until a knee injury stopped his career. Steve loved camping, being creative and hanging out with friends. He had a special talent with animals, they adored him being nearby. Steve’s career as a pumper was his favorite job. He loved being in the open and driving on country roads.
Steve was preceded in death by his brother, Tony; grandparents, Chris and R.Q. Butler and Pig and Audrey Cockrell. He will be missed by all that knew him and now he is with his brother.
Those left to celebrate Steve’s memory are his parents, Debbie Cockrell Butler and Darrell Cockrell, nephew, Logan Cockrell and a lot of cousins who adored him, especially Vanessa and Renee.
