Robert “Bob” Lee Perkins, Jr., 60, of Higgins passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021 in Higgins.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Friday, January 8, 2021 in Higgins Cemetery with James Ogle officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.
Bob was born July 9, 1960 in Perryton to Robert and Doris Perkins. He graduated from Higgins High School in 1978. After graduation he began his work career in the oilfield for 14 years before he and his father bought an Emu Ranch. On November 9, 1996 he married Robin Marker in Higgins and she preceded him in death on November 12, 2014. In 2006, Bob took over Perk’s Convenience Store from his parents, and was currently operating it until his death.
Bob was an active and supportive member of the Canadian AA group since 2016. He was a long-time member of the NRA and Harley Owners Group. To say Bob was an avid NASCAR fan was an understatement as he enjoyed watching and talking about it as much as possible. He enjoyed fishing and target shooting and took pride in teaching his grandchildren the skills necessary. He also enjoyed watching drag racing, fireworks, riding his Harley, and eating Pumpkin Pie. Bob treasured his role as PaPaw and will be missed dearly.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Bob is survived by 6 daughters, Misty Dawn Perkins-Mingus of Amarillo, Breanne Holbrook and husband Brian of Canyon, Ashley Ruddell and husband Brandon of Noble, Oklahoma, Amber Coykendall and husband T.J. of Arnett, Oklahoma, Brittany Word and husband Avory of Amarillo, and Kyla Thompson and husband Jeret of Amarillo; a son, Adam Bresee and wife Jennifer of Cedar Lake, Oklahoma; 2 sisters, Deborah Perkins of Higgins, and Penny Hughart and husband Jeff of El Reno, Oklahoma; 16 grandchildren, Kalli and husband James , Elizabeth, Drake, Trinity, Eli, Matthew, Micah, Peyton, LiLee, Lucas, Katelynn, Silas, Wesley, Noah, Easton, Nolan and numerous nieces and nephews. Also survived by his 2 dogs, Smoke and Little Britches.
