Maria Antonia Sanchez, 68, of Canadian passed away Sunday, February 16, 2025, in Canadian, surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 19, 2025, in the Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Chapel in Canadian with Richard Cerbantez, officiating. Cremation and services are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.
Public viewing will be Tuesday, February 18, 2025 12:00 - 8:00 pm and Wednesday, February 19, 2025 9:00 am until service time.
Maria Antonia Capetillo Sanchez was born October 23, 1956, in San Carlos, Coahuila Mexico to Antonio and Virginia Capetillo. She married Canuto Sanchez on December 16, 1987. They made their home in Canadian for 46 years. Maria was a homemaker, she loved her garden and raised beautiful flowers. She loved color, and her favorite was lime green. Maria enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and cooking, but being “Pami” to her grandchildren, they were her life. She looked forward to all the grandchildren’s activities and being an active part of their lives. Maria loved her Dallas Cowboys. Through the years she worked at Mr. Burger, the Edward Abraham Memorial Home and the Canadian Restaurant. For the past 4 years, Maria has been going weekly Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for dialysis treatment in Pampa. She grew to love the people at the facility, and they loved and adored her.
Maria was preceded in death by her parents Antonio and Virginia Capetillo and cherished nephew Sebastian Capetillo.
Those left to cherish Maria’s memory are her loving husband, Canuto Sanchez of Canadian; five children; Jose Rodolfo Sias of Canadian, Gaby Flores of Canadian, Luis and wife Paola Sanchez of Grand Prairie, Ada Minerva Sanchez of Amarillo and Gustavo and wife Mercedes Sanchez of Canadian. Grandchildren; Alexis Flores, Max Flores, Diego Adan Flores, Mia Bella Flores, Michael Benegas, Rebecca Nicole Sanchez, Joaquin Sanchez, Lucas Mateo Sanchez and great-grandaughter Bonnie. Her siblings; Rosario and spouse Eddie Ochoa, Alicia Capetillo, Antonio Capetillo Jr., Eduardo Capetillo all of Canadian, Susie and spouse Lyle Bingham of Gresham, Oregon and several nieces and nephews.
