Jeanne Sutton, 81, of Canadian, died October 9, 2017 in Canadian. Memorial graveside services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery, with Rev. Blake Durham, pastor of Higgins United Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian. Mrs. Sutton was born March 28, 1936 in Powers, Oregon to Clarence and Rose Wafford. She graduated from Pana High School in Pana, Illinois. Jeanne married V. C. Dake on March 10, 1956, and to that union she had her four children. She later married John Sutton on November 15, 1980, and he preceded her in death on November 25, 2009. Jeanne worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and worked for Bill Job and Johnny Morris at the Best Way Market. She sold Avon for 28 years, mentoring many young ladies in Avon sales. She was a member of the Canadian Methodist Church. Jeanne was known for her sweet, caring smile. Survivors include four children, Russell Dake, Danny Dake and Mike Dake, all of Canadian, and Elaine Hand and husband J. D. of Higgins; a stepdaughter, Elizabeth Strong and husband James of Marble Falls; nine grandchildren, DeLisa Pshigoda of Normangee, Alysia Posey and husband P. J. of Elk City, Oklahoma, Mikaela Smith and husband Tad of Arnett, Oklahoma, Andrew Fisher of Canadian, Jared Dake of Lubbock, Ricky Dake of South Carolina, Dannielle Shaw of South Texas, Amber Wilson of Marble Falls, and Austin Pennington; ten great grandchildren, Jeffery Pshigoda, Aries Fisher, Olen Hand, Taylor and Rayce Posey, Brazden and Jazmin Dake, Gabrielle and Charley Shaw, and Kinzley Wilson; three brothers, Ron Wafford, Larry Wafford and Cork Wafford; sister-in-law, Kahra Whisler; special lifetime friends, Mildred Ambrose, Judy and Alvin Mosley, and Mary Wagner. She was also preceded in death by special friends, Barbara Mosley and Lou and Bear Collins.
