Edward Ernest Stephenson

Edward Ernest Stephenson, 89, of Eufaula, Oklahoma (formerly of Canadian, Texas) passed away on June 2, 2022, in Bethany, Oklahoma.

Memorial graveside services will be June 25, 2022 at 10:00 AM at the Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery in Canadian with a memorial service following at 11:00 AM at the First Christian Church, Andy Taylor, officiating.  Services are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.  

Edward was born May 29, 1933, on the Thomas Jones Ranch in Hemphill County, Texas to Ed and Leta (Derrick) Stephenson. He attended school at Miami, Mendota, and Canadian. Mr. Stephenson spent his life working in agriculture, ranching in Texas, Missouri, South Dakota, and Oklahoma.

Edward is survived by brother, Delane Stephenson and wife Noveta of Canadian; sister, Lacreta (Cheta) McLanahan Rutherford and husband J.R. of Canadian; son, Kirby Stephenson and wife Teresa of Booker, Texas; daughter, Kathy Hubbart of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; daughter, Rhonda Wheeler of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Leta Stephenson, life partner Claudia Barnes, sister Carmeleta Clower, and niece Shari Dendy Crothers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Agape Road Hospice House, 6601 NW 48^th Street, Bethany, OK 73008 in memory of Edward Stephenson.
