Daniel Gorden Ferguson

Daniel Gorden Ferguson, 61 of Canadian, passed away Feb. 9, 2019 in Canadian. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Monday, Feb. 11, 2019 at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery with Matt Cook, pastor of the First Christian Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian. Daniel was born on August 15, 1957 in North Tonawanda, New York to Grant and Alice Ferguson. He had lived in Canadian over fifty years and attended the First Christian Church. Daniel was a protective and loving son. He and his mom, Alice, owned and operated the Donut Shop where he liked visiting with the customers. During the holiday season, Daniel loved to decorate the Donut Shop, and he was known to collect nativity scenes and Bibles. Daniel was a keen bird watcher and studied nature, especially gardening and growing beautiful flowers. He was a generous supporter of St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Survivors include his mother, Alice Ferguson; 5 aunts, Effie Neidig, Marie Korchinsky, Janet Steele, Genevie Weaver, and Judy Ferguson; and uncle, John Ferguson. Daniel was preceded in death by his dad, Grant and grandparents, Ruth and Thomas Ferguson and Freda and Paul Spencer.
