Betty Faye Flowers, 86 of Canadian passed away October 7, 2018 in Canadian. Funeral service will be 10:30 am, Thursday, October 11, 2018 at the First Baptist Church with Ben Mathers and Pastor Donald Hill, officiating. Burial will follow at the Edith Ford Memorial Cemeteries under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian. Betty Faye was born November 23, 1931 in Canadian to Clarence and Louella Kemp. She attended Canadian schools and was graduated from Canadian High School. Betty Faye was a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell. She married Vernon Flowers on August 18, 1950, he preceded her in death July 15, 2006. Betty Faye was a member of the First Baptist Church, Women’s Club, Bridge Club and faithful to deliver Meals-on-Wheels with Vona Benge. As a feisty and independent woman, she was fun and entertaining. She was also known as a great cook, especially loved for her fried chicken and chocolate chip cookies. Survivors include her daughter Tammy Flowers and husband Charlie McMordie of Amarillo; a son, Kelly Flowers and wife Charlotte of Miami; a brother, Bob Kemp of Hurst; three grandchildren, Charlie Flowers and wife Traci of Perryton, Marshall Flowers and wife Megan of Elk City, Ok; and Madison Ladd of Ft. Worth; seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Betty Faye was also preceded in death by her parents and sister, Pat Gibbins.
