Deanie "Ma" Wood

Services for Deanie “Ma” Wood, 75, of Canadian, Texas, will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 5, 2007 at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Jerry Golden, officiating. Burial will follow in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery in Canadian, TX under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, Texas. Mrs. Wood passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2007 in Canadian, Texas. Deanie was born on March 19, 1931 in Sasakwa, OK to the late Mr. John Frank Robb and Mrs. Ophelia Taylor Robb. She attended schools in Sasakwa, OK and graduated high school in Cement, OK. She moved to Wheeler, TX in 1964 from Canadian, TX and returned to Canadian in 1974. Deanie married O.L. “Woody” Wood on June 8, 1946 in Anadarko, OK. He preceded her in death on December 21, 1996. She was a homemaker, but also owned and operated Quick Stop, a consignment shop, and worked as a clerk at the Grocery Store and True Value in Canadian. She was also a member of Rebecca’s Lodge. Deanie was preceded in death by one brother, Gene Robb. Deanie is survived by two sons, Buddy Wood and wife Susan of Wheeler, TX and Keith Wood of Canadian, TX; two daughters, Sue Ford of Mustang, OK and Robin Frey and husband Fred of Shreveport, LA; seven grandchildren, Paige Ford of Moore, OK, Brooke Ford of Mustang, OK, Brandi Hernandez of Oklahoma City, OK, Cy Wood of Sayre, OK, Nikki Woldon of Ellisville, MS, Tiffany Chaffin of Shreveport, LA and Jeannie Campbell of Eric, OK; nine great-grandchildren, Rylan Dwight, Katylin Wood, Madylin Hernandez, Dylan Woldon, Haley Chaffin, Dillon Campbell, Sunny Campbell, Brittany and Loren Strasburg, one brother, Jerry Robb and wife LaVada of Las Vegas, NV, and two sisters, Cliva Jo Schroeder of Midwest City, OK and Francille Hodges and husband Bill of Rock Hill, SC. The family suggests memorials be sent to Meals on Wheels, Box 447, Canadian, TX 79014.
