Graveside services for Norma Carr Rogers, 72, of Canadian, TX will be at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 25, 2007 at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Monte Kreis and Dr. Dean English officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Mrs. Rogers passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2007 in Canadian, Texas. Norma was born on June 7, 1934 in Reydon, OK to the late Mr. Roy Wheeler and Mrs. Frankie Burton Wheeler. She was a graduate of Canadian High School. Norma then attended West Texas State University. Norma married Jerry Carr on September 2, 1952 in Pampa, TX. He preceded her in death on November 27, 1972. She then married Billy Rogers on October 12, 1974 at Locust Grove Baptist Church. Norma managed and perpetuated the family business and interest. She was also very active in Relay for Life, Junior Club, Meals on Wheels and a couple’s bridge club. Norma was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Melvin Wheeler and Kenneth Wheeler, two sisters, Opal Kent and Willa Dean Sorensen. She is survived by her husband, Billy Rogers of Canadian, TX; two sons, Kem Carr and wife Neva, and Marty Carr and wife Sharon all of Canadian, TX; one step son, Jeff Rogers and wife Belinda of Canadian, TX; one sister, Winona Stephenson of Eufaula, OK; four grandchildren, Chad Carr and wife Lori of Canadian, TX; Brian Carr of Amarillo, TX; Cory Carr and Casey Carr both of Canadian, TX; two great-grandchildren, Tyler Carr and Kaden Carr both of Canadian, TX. The family suggests memorials be made to Hemphill County Hospice, 1020 S. 4th, Canadian, TX 79014.
