Services for Ben E. Davis, 68, of Hammon, OK, will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 15, 2007 at the Church of Christ in Memphis, TX, with Tom Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Memphis, TX. Arrangements are under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home in Memphis, Texas. Mr. Davis passed away on Friday, January 12, 2007 in Hammon, OK. He was born on December 02, 1938 in Memphis, TX to the late Mr. Trilton Tynus Davis and Mrs. Faye Louise (Moore) Davis. He was raised in Hall County. The first job he held was as a butcher. Over the years he worked as an auto mechanic and a Ford salesman. He also taught auto mechanics in Memphis. He married Jeanette Pepper on July 7, 1972 in Memphis. They moved to Hammon, OK in 1977, where he worked for Red Johnson Ford, Inc. for 28 years. One of his accomplishments while working there was the award for "Winning the World Over 1987 4th Quarter Sales Challenge." Mr. Davis was a member of the Memphis Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Bennett Davis, in 1973 and a brother, Don Davis, in 2006. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette, of Hammon, OK; one daughter, Sheri Dixon and husband Jim of Memphis, TX; one son, Sheldon Davis of Yukon, OK; four grandchildren, Heather Saenz of Wheeler, TX, Ashley Dixon of Canyon, TX and Mason and Kale Dale of Hinton, OK; one great grandchild, Landon; one sister, Joye Jouett of Estelline, TX; many nieces and nephews; and a host of special friends.
