Services for Frances Otis, 87, of Canadian, Texas, will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 3, 2007, at Hughs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Donald Hill, officiating. Burial will be in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, Texas. Mrs. Otis passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2006, in Canadian, Texas. She was born on March 3, 1919 in Wilsey, KS to the late Mr. Clark Shearer and Mrs. Bessie Miller Shearer. She attended schools in Kansas. She married Floyd B. Otis Sr. on September 30, 1935 in Cottonwood Falls, KS. He preceded her in death on February 28, 2000. They moved to Canadian in 1946 from Kanas. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church in Wilsey, KS. She was preceded in death by one son, Floyd Otis Jr. in 1981, one grandson Ferlin Otis, four brothers and three sisters. She is survived by three sons, Shorty Otis of Canadian, TX; Frank Otis of Topeka, KS; Freddie Otis and wife Cathy of Alex, OK; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
