Canadian, TX – Services for Mrs. Kathy Purdy, 57, of Canadian, TX will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 13, 2010 at Hughs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Justin Coleman, officiating. Burial will be in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery in Canadian, TX under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home in Canadian, TX. Mrs. Purdy passed away Friday, September 10, 2010 in Amarillo, TX. Kathy was born December 15, 1952 in Little Rock, AR to the late Mr. Branford Harp Jr. and Mrs. Janice Marie Harp. She was a graduate of Southwestern Heights High School in Kismet, KS. For the majority of her life Kathy lived in Liberal, KS where she was self-employed. She and her first husband of 28 years, George Fawcett raised their three children, Jason, Kevin, and Iris. Mrs. Purdy and her husband, Terry, resided in Canadian for seven years, where they owned and operated TPC&S for three years. Kathy was a member of the Society for the Prevention of Bored Housewives for over 20 years. She was also a proud member of the Too Tired Motorcycle Club. Kathy loved bowling and was a member of various bowling leagues for several years. She is survived by her husband, Terry Purdy of Canadian, TX; two sons, Jason Lee Fawcett of Colwich, KS; Kevin Fawcett of Amarillo, TX; one daughter, Iris Thompson of Liberal, KS; three grandchildren, Kylie Fawcett of Amarillo, TX; Kaitlyn Thompson of Liberal, KS and Stephanie Kendrick; two brothers, Brad and Rich Harp of Liberal, KS; her stepson, Rusty Kendrick and wife Jackie.
