Services for Claude W. Edelmon, 90, of Memphis, TX, will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 8, 2006 at First Baptist Church in Memphis, TX, with Rev. Daniel Downey officiating, assisted by Dr. O.K. Bowen. Interment will be at 4:00 PM Tuesday at Northlawn Memorial Gardens in Dumas, TX. Arrangements are under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home in Memphis, Texas. Mr. Edelmon passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2006 in Childress, TX. He was born on November 09, 1915 in Lometa, TX to the late Mr. James Martin Edelmon and Mrs. Cora Belle (Davenport) Edelmon. He grew up in Black, TX and Friona, TX and graduated from Plainview High School. He married Juanita Maudene Rogers in 1938 in Plainview, Texas. She preceded him in death on February 7, 1993. Mr. Edelmon was a farmer and served in the United States Army Air Corp. He moved to Dumas, TX in 1965, where he worked many years for Dumas Implement. He also worked several years at Oglesby Implement in Dumas and for Higley Farms near Sunray, TX. He moved to Memphis, TX in 1993 and was a member of First Baptist Church. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Martin William Edelmon in 2001; three brothers and three sisters. He is survived by one daughter, Judy Stewart of Memphis, TX; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
