Services for Gordon "Bill" Maddox, 92, of Memphis, TX, will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at First Christian Church in Memphis, TX, with Dick Boutell officiating, assisted by Tom Posey. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Memphis, TX. Arrangements are under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home in Memphis, Texas. Mr. Maddox passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2006 in Memphis, TX. He was born on April 24, 1914 in Donley County, TX to the late Mr. Robert Thomas Maddox and Mrs. Leatha Jane (Draper) Maddox. He grew up in Hall county and married Faye Womack on August 4, 1932 in Hollis, OK. She preceded him in death on September 20, 2002. He was a self-employed farmer and owned and operated Memphis Sewing Machine from 1950 until 2005. Bill was a member of the Memphis Country Club since 1972. He was also a member of the First Christian Church in Memphis for more than 70 years. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Maddox was also preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters. He is survived by one son, Gordon Maddox and wife Audrie of Memphis, TX; one daughter, Vivian Faye Junkins of Tennessee; one sister, Pauline Dacy of Roswell, NM; four grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
