Rosary services for Jose Vasquez, 77, of Canadian, TX will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, January 28, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 29, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Salibindla Bala Showreddy, officiating. Burial will be in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Mr. Vasquez passed away Sunday, January 24, 2010 in Amarillo, TX. He was born March 6, 1932 in Jalisco, Mexico to the late Mr. Fransisco Vasquez and Mrs. Julia (Lopez) Vasquez. He attended schools in Mexico. He married Antonia Becerra on January 19, 1955 in Mexico. They moved to Canadian, TX in 1969 from Guanajuato, Mexico. Jose worked at the Canadian Mill work and was a member of the Sacred heart Catholic Church. He was preceded by two sons, Isaiah and Jose Vasquez, two sisters, Julia Zaragoza and Petra Martinez and one granddaughter, Adelyn Martinez. He is survived by his wife Antonia Vasquez of Canadian, TX; three sons, David Vasquez and wife Adela of Granbury, TX; Jessie Vasquez and wife Kimberly of Denton, TX; Dennis Vasquez and wife Araceley of Lubbock, TX; four daughters, Lupe Espinoza of Amarillo, TX; Imelda Yasin of West Malaysia; Maria Trevino and husband Edward of Fort Worth, TX; Betty Martinez and husband Miguel of Amarillo, TX; three sisters, Anastacia Hernandez of Waynoka, OK; Juana Cervantes and husband Phillip and Ana Cervantes and husband Robert all of Canadian, TX; 21 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
