Memorial services for Mr. Gene Taylor, 57, of Memphis, TX will be at 3:00 P.M. Friday, January 8, 2010 at Red Marble Ministries Church with Rev. Dale Miller, officiating and Jackie Blum and Rev. Dale Sexton, assisting. Inurnment will be in Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon at a later time. Cremation is under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Memphis, TX. Mr. Taylor passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2010 in Memphis, TX. Gene was born January 31, 1952 in Clarendon, TX to Mr. Travis Taylor and Mrs. Carol (White) Taylor. He graduated high school in Phoenix, AZ and then went on to attend a trade school at Lincoln College in Mississippi. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He moved to Memphis in 2002 from Cheyenne, OK. He married Brenda Ingram in 1990. She preceded him in death in 2006. He has worked for Dason Incorporated as a truck superintendent for the past 8 years. He was an elder and a member of Red Marble Ministries. He is survived by one son, Michael Taylor of Memphis, TX; three daughters, Melissa Lee of Killeen, TX; Brandy Walters of Wetumka, OK; Tina Taylor of Anniston, AL; his parents, Travis and Carol Taylor of Memphis, TX; one sister, Patricia Hunt of Cheyenne, OK and seven grandchildren.
