Graveside services for Mrs. Dorothy Anthony, 87, of Lubbock, TX formerly of Memphis, TX will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 2, 2010 at Fairview Cemetery in Memphis, TX with Tom Anderson, officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Memphis, TX. Mrs. Anthony passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2009 in Lubbock, TX. Dorothy was born February 3, 1922 in Aspermont, TX to the late Mr. Ernest Moreland and Mrs. Eula (Thorne) Moreland. She was a 1939 graduate of Lakeview High School. She married Floy “Chuck” Anthony on February 17, 1943 in Memphis, TX. He preceded her in death on November 19, 1987. Dorothy worked at the Burlington Industries in Memphis as an Inspector until retiring in the mid 1970’s. She was a member of the Rebecca’s Lodge in Lakeview and a member of the Church of Christ in Memphis, TX. Dorothy moved to Lubbock, TX in December of 1996 from Memphis, TX. She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Jeanie Kemper and husband Lynn of Lubbock, TX; two brothers, Bo Moreland of Bryan, TX; J.T. Moreland of Lowell, AR; two grandchildren, Jay Kemper and wife Robin of Lubbock, TX; Kayla O’Connell and husband John of Abilene, TX; five great-grandchildren, Callie, Claire, Kasen, Brooke and Tandy.
