Tessie Tyla "Tess" Wilkinson

Services for Tessie Wilkinson 94, of Canadian, TX will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 24, 2006 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Monte Kreis, officiating. Burial will be in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Mrs. Wilkinson passed away Thursday, June 22, 2006 in Canadian, TX. She was born on April 11, 1912 in Elk City, OK to the late Mr. George Terrell and Mrs. Zenna Denham Terrell. She was a graduate of Guthrie High School. She married John Paul Wilkinson on September 13, 1930 in Guthrie, OK. He preceded her in death on December 14, 1997. They moved to Canadian, TX in 1939 from Pampa, TX. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Canadian Curtain Club. She was also a homemaker and worked at the Canadian Record. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Tracey Waterfield Neilson in 1981. She is survived by two daughters, Sandy Waterfield and husband Jim of Canadian, TX; Shelley Behney of Canadian, TX; one brother, Jim Terrell of Amarillo, TX; one sister, Marie Jones of Denton, TX; two grandchildren, Rick Waterfield and wife Mary of Canadian, TX; Cindy Young and husband Craig of Canadian, TX; five great-grandchildren, Jason Waterfield and Bryan Waterfield both of Ruidoso, NM; Matt Young, David Young and Tracey Young all of Canadian, TX. The family suggests memorials to Hemphill County Hospice, 1020 South 4th St., Canadian, TX 79014.
