Graveside services for Mr. Arnold Hill, 79, of Canadian, TX will be at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 15, 2009 at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery with Daryle Perry, officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Mr. Hill passed away Friday, November 13, 2009. Arnold was born December 14, 1929 to the late Mr. Ben Hill and Mrs. Hazel (Glasgow) Hill. He attended school in Roberts County on the Hill ranch. He moved to California at the age of 12 where he began his bull riding career and also was a stunt man in many of the western movies. Arnold trained and broke many horses during his career. He was a member of the Turtle Association which later became RCA now known as PRCA where he held his gold card. He married Alice Shaw on September 11, 1965 in Las Vegas, NV. They moved back to the Hill ranch in 1971. He enjoyed making many different knives and hatchets. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Clinton and Clayton Hill and two sisters, Una Butler and Rady Helen Doget Whitsel. He is survived by his wife, Alice Hill of Canadian, TX; one brother, Dennis Hill of Alvin, TX; two sisters, Marie Livezey of McKinney, TX; Lorene Brown and husband Robert of the Hill Ranch of Canadian, TX; two sister-in-laws, Valerie Thompson and husband Mike of Simi Valley, CA; Frankie Hill of Canadian, TX. The family suggests memorials be made to Hemphill County Hospice, 1020 South 4th St., Canadian, TX 79014.
