Gayle Proffitt

Services for Gayle Proffitt, 37, of Lakeview, TX, will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 20, 2006 at the Church of Christ in Memphis, TX, with Tom Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Memphis, TX. Arrangements are under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home in Memphis, Texas. Mrs. Proffitt passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2006 in Dallas, TX. She was born on May 9, 1969 in Ft. Worth, TX and was the daughter of Jo Ann (Brown) Carroll. She grew up in Memphis, TX and graduated from Memphis High School in 1987. She married Wayne Proffitt on July 27, 1989 in Memphis. They lived in Killeen, TX from 1990 until 1992 while Wayne served in the United States Army. Gayle later graduated from Amarillo College. She worked at the FSA Office in Memphis for two years and had worked as a secretary at the Kathy Fowler Agency for the last two years. She was a loving wife and mother to her husband and four children and spent much of her time involved in their many activities. She is survived by her husband, Wayne Proffitt of Lakeview, TX; three daughters, Ashley, Amanda and Abby Proffitt of Lakeview, TX; one son, Daniel Proffitt of Lakeview, TX; her mother, Jo Ann Carroll of Memphis, TX; three sisters, Kim Gurley of Amarillo, TX, Lori Riggs and Kristi Ritchie, both of Memphis, TX; and one brother, Thomas Wayne Carroll. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 pm on Friday, May 19, 2006 at the funeral home.
