Roberta Haines, 70, of Canadian, died January 18, 2017 in Amarillo. Memorial graveside services will be 2:30 PM Sunday, January 22, 2017, at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery, with Jeff Lay, Roberta’s son-in-law, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian. Mrs. Haines was born October 18, 1946 in Dalhart to R. L. and Sue Anderson. She was reared in the Canadian area, graduating from Canadian High School, and lived in that area most of her life. She married Dee Alvin Haines on June 29, 1968 in Lipscomb County at the Haines Farm. He preceded her in death on June 2, 1970. Roberta liked to crochet and she enjoyed reading, but most of all, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Survivors include two daughters, Dee Anna Lay and husband Jeff of Sweetwater, and Trella Burton and Andy Priest of Amarillo; three granddaughters, Alanna Glass-Rhylon of Roscoe, Alex Armstrong of Sweetwater, and Mason Burton and boyfriend Keith Cheuvront of Amarillo; grandson, Tyler Burton of Amarillo; great granddaughter, RhyAnn Glass of Roscoe; two great grandsons, Rhyder Glass and Rhett Glass, both of Roscoe; her sister, Eva McClellan and husband Gary of Perryton; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Roberta was also preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Roy Lee Anderson and James “Butch” Anderson.
