Memorial Services for Connie Saye, 89, of Memphis, TX, will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 29, 2006 at First United Methodist Church in Memphis, TX, with Rev. Gary Boles officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home in Memphis, Texas. Mrs. Saye passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2006 in Childress, TX. She was born on January 16, 1917 in Gainesville, TX to the late Mrs. Grace (Burgess) Sewell. She grew up in Gainesville and graduated from Gainesville High School in 1934. She married Oscar Richard "Doc" Saye on November 2, 1936 in Oklahoma. He preceded her in death in 1993. Mrs. Saye lived in Borger for several years. She moved to Memphis in 1942, where she and her husband owned and operated Mobil Consignee for over fifty years. She retired at the age of 80. Mrs. Saye was an original member of the Business and Professional Women's Club, in which she held several offices. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Memphis, and was in the Victory Sunday School class. In addition to her mother and husband, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Monta June Harrell and an infant daughter. She is survived by two daughters, Linda Davidson and husband Danny of Estelline, TX; Sandy Houston and husband Sammy of Freona, TX; a son-in-law, Johnny Harrrell of Memphis, TX; six grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
