Susan Kay Roberts

Susan Kay Roberts, 73, of Canadian, died November 26, 2016 in Canadian. There are no services scheduled. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian. Mrs. Roberts was born January 17, 1943 in Pratt, Kansas, to Glen and Muriel Renfro. She had been a resident of Canadian since 1974. Susan married Kenneth Hal Roberts on February 1, 1977. Soon after their marriage, Susan and Hal became an inseparable, coast to coast truck driving team for various companies until 2001. Hal described her as the warmest, kindest and most caring person he had ever known. She loved children and animals. Susan was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Billie Jean; a brother, Eddie; a daughter, Gail S. Julian Smiley; and a granddaughter, Paige Cornelius. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth H. Roberts of the home; seven children, Lee Ann Shaver of Watford City, North Dakota, Kenny Julian and wife Laura of Snyder, Oklahoma, Carl Julian of Pratt, Kansas, Jenny Clark and husband James of Hutchinson, Kansas, Ludwig E. Cornelius and wife Cristy of Kingman, Kansas, Kirsten Cornelius of Wichita, Kansas, and Dulcie Cornelius of Kingman, Kansas; a brother, Jeff Renfro of Claremore, Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren; and 9 beloved fur babies. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Hemphill County Hospice, 1020 S. 4th, Canadian, Texas 79014.
