Graveside services for Mr. N. Morris Wilson, 74, of Beaumont, TX will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery in Canadian, TX with Rev. Lewis Holland, officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Mr. Wilson passed away Saturday, July 11, 2009 in Beaumont, TX. Mr. Wilson was born April 4, 1935 in Hemphill County, TX to the late Mr. Joseph Wilson and Mrs. Ora (Brooks) Wilson. He was a 1955 graduate of Canadian High School and went on to attend McMurray College in Abilene, TX. While living in Canadian he was the general contractor for various remodels, such as the Moody Building in the late 1970’s and the addition to the Hemphill County Library as well as many new home construction in the local area. He was also a volunteer for the Canadian Fire Department. Mr. Wilson was a past State Officer for the Jaycee’s Civic Organization in Pampa, TX in the 1960’s. He moved to the Golden Triangle area in 1998 from Canadian, TX. He worked as a security guard at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital in Beaumont, TX. He was also a member of Trinity Methodist Church in Beaumont, TX. He was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 2 sisters. He is survived by two sons, Kevin Wilson and wife Pam of Wilmington, NC; Robert Wilson and wife Neysia of Iowa Park, TX; two brothers, Rhea Wilson and wife Pat and Kelly Wilson and wife Lee all of Canadian, TX; one sister, Mabel Woods of Canadian, TX; four grandchildren, Jereme Wilson of West, TX; Graham Wilson of Austin, TX; Brittnee Wilson of Iowa Park, TX; David Wilson of Wallace, NC and many friends. The family will greet friends at the First Christian Church on Monday, July 13, 2009 from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Viewing will be available at the First Christian Church Chapel at 402 Purcell Ave in Canadian.
