Dorothy Orr

Services for Mrs. Dorothy Orr, 91, of Canadian, TX will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 3, 2009 at the Abundant Life Assembly of God with Rev. Justin Coleman, officiating and David Young, assisting. Burial will follow in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Mrs. Orr passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2009 in Canadian, TX. She was born August 21, 1917 in Welty, OK to the late Mr. James Welch and Mrs. Fidel Estep Welch. She attended school in Oklahoma. She moved to Canadian, TX in 1957 from Wheeler, TX. She married Albert Orr in August of 1952 in Wheeler, TX. He preceded her in death on July 26, 1998. Dorothy worked as a cook at the Oasis. She was preceded in death by her son, Leonard Dearl Clayton and her daughter, Sharon Kay Orr. She is survived by three sons, Joe Clayton of Albuquerque, NM; Bill Clayton of Shamrock, TX; Albert Orr of Canadian, TX; two daughters, Nell Woodruff of Shamrock, TX; Delanie Davis of Canadian, TX and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
