Services for Randall Millard Bentley, 73, of Canadian, TX will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Canadian Elementary School with Rev. Mert Cooper, Rev. Travis Allen, and Rev. Sydne Allen, officiating. A private family burial will follow in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Randall passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016 in Amarillo, TX. Randall was born August 1, 1942 in Gideon, MO, to the late Mr. Arthur George Bentley and Mrs. Edna Juanita (Barfoot) Bentley. He was a graduate of Gideon High School and Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, AR. Randall married Ona Joyce (Shelton) on June 8, 1963 in Gideon, MO. Mr. Bentley worked as an elementary physical education teacher until his retirement in 2002. Randall loved his family and enjoyed spending as much time as he could with his kids and grandkids. His passions were the outdoors, hiking, running and riding bikes. He also enjoyed reading and writing poetry, which he gave to many people. He was a "renaissance" man in a modern world. A kind and gentle soul to all he met and as loyal a friend as you would ever have. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Canadian, TX. Randall was survived by his wife, Ona of Canadian, TX; two sons, Randall Millard Bentley II and wife Mia of Monroe, LA, Howard Brian Bentley and wife Staci of Amarillo, TX; one daughter, Denita Kay Landry and husband Landon of Canadian, TX; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Larry Dale Bentley of Batesville, AR, Arthur George Bentley II of West Plains, MO; three sisters, Barbra Ann Herring of Cape Girardeau, MO; Shirley Jean Clifford of Campbell, MO and Carolyn Sue Randolph of Rogers, AR.
