Graveside service for Wanda Jean Prater, 66, of Amarillo, TX will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2016 at Gageby Cemetery with Donald Hill, officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Wanda Jean passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016 in Canadian, TX. Wanda Jean was born July 17, 1949 in Wheeler, TX to the late Mr. Verneal Prater and Mrs. Juanita Jean (Townsend) Prater. She attended schools in Skellyton, TX. She moved to Amarillo, TX from Stamford, TX. While living in Stamford she attended the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her brother, David Wayne Prater and a sister, Wilma Diane Prater. She is survived by her sister, Mary Lou Carter of Briscoe, TX; two nieces, Jeanette Clayton and husband Frankie of Canadian, TX; Shannon Blue-Frick and husband William of Yukon, OK; one nephew, Jonathan Prater of Amarillo, TX; three great-nieces, Deseray Jahnel of Canadian, TX; Madison and Macie Hatcher of Yukon, OK; one great-nephew, Carl Jahnel of Canadian, TX.
