Graveside services for Rodney Elzie Immel, 68, of Amarillo, TX will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery in Canadian, TX with Philip Hilton, a family pastor from Idalou, TX, officiating. Burial will follow in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery in Canadian under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Rodney Elzie Immel loved the Lord and went to be with him on December 14, 2015. Rod was born on July 24, 1947 in Higgins, TX to Elzie and Coralee Immel. He graduated from Higgins High School in 1965. He married Carolyn Krehbiel on December 28, 1968. He then graduated from West Texas State University in Canyon, TX. He also served in the Army National Guard. Rod and Carolyn moved to White Deer, TX in 1971 and he worked for First Bank & Trust Co. for 25 years. He also was a Carson County Reserve Deputy and EMT for White Deer Volunteer Service. They moved to Amarillo, TX in 1997 and Rod was employed at BSA Hospital and then has been employed by North West Texas Hospital for the past 17 years as a Sargeant Security Officer. He also has served as a Reserve Deputy through Donley County. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Amarillo, TX. Rod is preceded in death by his mother Coralee and father Elzie Immel. Survivors are his wife, Carolyn, daughter Jill Heiselman and husband Mike, daughter Kim Jones and husband Kevin, four grandkids, Cooper Jones, Carter Heiselman, Ava Claire Jones, and Carson Heiselman, and a brother Randy Immel and wife Dorice. Rod also leaves numerous friends & family from the Texas Panhandle whom he loved dearly.
