Services for Mrs. Lizzie Mae Srygley, 91, of Mesquite, TX formerly of Memphis, TX will be at 2:00 PM Monday, March 30, 2009 at Travis Baptist Church in Memphis with Rev. Rocky Pope, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home in Memphis, Texas. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 11, 2009 at Mimosa Lane Baptist Church in Mesquite, TX. Mrs. Srygley passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at her residence in Mesquite, TX. Lizzie was born December 12, 1917 in Montague County to the late Mr. Lester Vaughn and Mrs. Rosa Mae (Conway) Vaughn. She married R.D. “Bill” Srygley on March 15, 1940 in Hall County. He preceded her in death on July 18, 1988. She was a homemaker and a member of Mimosa Lane Baptist Church in Mesquite. She is preceded in death by one son, Royce Dale Srygley, three brothers, Luther, Roscoe and Bud Vaughn and her son-in-law, Glynn Christian. She is survived by two daughters, Wanda Rhoades and husband Hawk of Mexia, TX; Betty Christian of Tulsa, OK; one sister, Maxine Hayden of Mineral Wells, TX; five grandchildren, Twana Stewart of Gatesville, TX; Willie Rhoades of Mexia, TX; Angela Larson and husband John of Mesquite, TX; Robert Christian and wife Brandi of Hammond, LA; D’Lynn Armstrong and husband Richard of Tulsa, OK; 11 great-grandchildren, Tim Stewart and wife Cindi of Gatesville, TX; Riley Larson of Mesquite, TX; Hanna and Valarie Rhoades both of Reno, NV; Rudi Darouse of Hammond, LA; Rebekah, John and Matthew Christian all of Hammond, LA; Duncan, Alexa and Marcus Armstrong all of Tulsa, OK. The family will receive friends at Hughs Funeral Home, 514 N 10th St., Memphis, TX on Sunday, March 29, 2009 from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
