Bette Clements

Graveside services for Mrs. Bette Clements, 95, of Canadian, TX will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 23, 2015 at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery in Canadian, TX with Rev. Travis Allen, officiating. Burial will follow in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery in Canadian under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Bette passed away Saturday, November 21, 2015 in Canadian, TX. Bette was born March 1, 1920 in Wilder, ID to the late Mr. John Lake and Mrs. Hazel (Whitted) Lake. She was a 1938 graduate of Boise High School in Boise, ID. She married Clarence Clements on December 1, 1941 in Boise, ID. He preceded her in death on October 21, 1980. They moved to Canadian in 1964 from Perryton, TX. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and was also the secretary and treasurer. She was a past board member of Rachael’s Little House, she was a volunteer at Hemphill County Hospital and also helped deliver Meals on Wheels. She was preceded in death by two sisters, two grandsons, Jerry and Joe Don and a grand daughter-in-law, Suzanne. She is survived by one son, Mitch Clements of Joshua, TX; four daughters, Susan Sutton of Canadian, TX; Vicki Fox of Canadian, TX; Diana Jennings of Decatur, TX; Terri Knocke of Skellytown, TX; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
