Pete Tennison

Graveside services for Mr. Pete Tennison, 66, of Higgins, TX will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 23, 2009 at Higgins Cemetery with Rev. Clay Wells, officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Mr. Tennison passed away Thursday, February 19, 2009 in Amarillo, Texas. Pete was born November 26, 1942 in Amarillo, TX to the late Mr. William “Bill” Tennison and Mrs. Selma (Houser) Gillespie and raised by his step father Mr. Orville Gillespie. He was a 1960 graduate of Higgins High School and attended West Texas State University. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam Era. He married JoLe Webster on August 12, 1989 in Higgins, TX. He worked in the maintenance department at Higgins Independent School District. He was also a mechanic. He was preceded in death by a daughter Rene Tennison on December 6, 1991. He is survived by his wife, JoLe of Higgins, TX; one son, Bryan Tennison and wife Kristy of Phoenix, AZ; one brother, Grady Gillespie of Winneconne, WI; two grandchildren, Jake and Jamie “Pinkey” Tennison of Phoenix, AZ. The family suggests memorials be made to the Higgins Public Library, P.O. Box 250, Higgins, TX 79046.
