Lena Forbau

Services for Mrs. Lena Forbau, 89, of Higgins, Texas, will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday, February 16, 2009 at the First Christian Church Chapel in Canadian with Rev. Kenny Platte, officiating. Burial will follow in Higgins Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, Texas. Mrs. Forbau passed away Thursday, February 12, 2009. Lena was born March 31, 1919 in Okeene, OK to the late Mr. Alexander Karbs and Lydia (Rauh) Karbs. She attended schools in Blaine County, OK. She married Eddie Forbau on December 2, 1938 in Higgins, TX. He preceded her in death on July 15, 2007. She moved to Higgins in 1938 from Okeene, OK. She was a homemaker and affiliated with the First Baptist Church in Higgins and Shattuck, OK. She was preceded in death by one sister Edna Babitzke. She is survived by three sons, Darrel Forbau of Okeene, OK; Terry Forbau of Higgins, TX; Gordon Forbau of Houston, TX; four daughters, Janice Townsend and husband James of Rush Springs, OK; LaDonna Morrow and husband Eddie Bob of Darrouzett, TX; JaNelle Sutton and husband Jerry of Elk City, OK; Edwadine Forbau of Ozark, MO; a surrogate daughter, Debbie Hill of Shattuck, OK; 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be made to Shattuck Nursing Center, 201 N Alfalfa St., Shattuck, OK 73858.
