Rose Marie Barnett

Funeral services for Rose Marie Barnett, age 76 of Amarillo and formerly of Memphis, TX, will be at 3:00 PM Thursday, February 5, 2009 at the Hughs Memorial Chapel with Tom Anderson, Minister of the Memphis Church of Christ, officiating.  Committal services will follow in the Fairview Cemetery Chapel under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Memphis, TX. Mrs. Barnett died on Sunday, February 1, 2009, in Amarillo, TX. She was born on November 16, 1932 in Swindon, England to the late George and Sarah Yarworth.  She worked as a Fighter Plotter for the Royal Air Force during the Korean War.  She met and married Marvin Barnett in 1952 in London, and they moved to the United States in 1954.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ in Memphis. She is survived by one son, Danny Barnett and wife Jackie of Dallas; one daughter, Carolin Yung and husband Robert of Amarillo; one grandson, Benjamin; one step-granddaughter, Sarah; one brother, Stanley Yarworth of Swindon, England; one niece, Patricia Maxwell of Swindon, England; and a host of extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and three brothers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fairview Cemetery Association, PO Box 265, Memphis, TX 79245.
