Memorial services for Harold South, 77, of Amarillo, TX formerly of Canadian, TX will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2006 at Trinity Baptist Church in Amarillo, TX with Dr. Carey Skinner, officiating. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2006 at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery in Canadian, TX. Services are under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Mr. South died Monday, February 20, 2006. He was born on January 29, 1929 in Mendota, TX to the late Mr. Everett South and Mrs. Virginia (Gee Gee) Williams South. He was a graduate of Canadian High School in 1947. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean Conflict. He married Flo Kenner on January 29, 1965 in Amarillo, TX. He lived in Canadian until 1952. He later resided in Amarillo, TX from 1955 until 2006. He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad as a Conductor for 36 years before retiring in January of 1996. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Flo South of Amarillo, TX; two sons, Danny South and wife Jana of Amarillo, TX; Ricky Dodson of Dallas, TX; two daughters, Kathy Shackleford and husband George of Texarkana, TX; Terri Bryant and husband Gene of San Antonio, TX; one brother, Billy Glen South of Harlowton, MT and seven grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to Odyssey Hospice, 7201 Evans, Amarillo, TX 79106
