Graveside services for Mr. Billy Adcock, 79, of Canadian, TX will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at Washita Cemetery in Hemphill County with Dr. Dean English, officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Mr. Adcock passed away Sunday, January 18, 2009 in Canadian, Texas. Billy was born August 3, 1929 in Hemphill County to the late Mr. Asa Adcock and Mrs. Evelyn (Blackburn) Adcock. He was a lifelong resident of Hemphill County. Billy worked for 22 years as an equipment operator for Hemphill County. He was also a farmer and rancher. He is survived by 10 cousins, W.H. Adcock of Canadian, TX; Thelma Curnutt of Clovis, NM; Harold Curnutt of Whitesboro, TX; Carl Adcock of North Richland Hills, TX; Bobby Adcock of Pampa, TX; Hugh Jeffus of Siloam Springs, AR; Alice Marie Burkholder of California; Jimmie Adcock of Canadian, TX; Patsy Fair of Roanoke, TX; Lealon Adcock of Monroe, CT. Mr. Adcock will lie is state at the First Christian Church, 402 Purcell Ave., Canadian, TX 79014. The family suggests memorials be made to Hemphill County Hospice, 1020 S 4th St., Canadian, TX 79014.
