Memorial services for Hoot Tepe, 51, of Canadian, TX will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 12, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Cheyenne, OK with Donald Hill, officiating and Rev. Jeff Hurlbut, assisting. Inurnment will be in Eller Flat Prairie Dell Cemetery in Hemphill County under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Mr. Tepe passed away Thursday, January 8, 2009 in Hemphill County. Hoot was born June 16, 1957 in Amarillo, TX to the late Mr. Bennie D. Tepe and Mrs. Bette Lou (Mobley) Tepe. He attended grammar school at Blue Ridge in Hemphill County and was a 1975 graduate of Canadian High School. He then went on to graduate from the University of Texas Tech with a degree in Ag Economics. He married Deborah Glover on January 1, 1978 in Lubbock, TX. Hoot was a farmer and a rancher. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cheyenne and of the Volunteer Fire Department in Gem City. He was preceded in death by one brother, Johnnie Dee Tepe and one sister, DeeAnna Tepe and by the man that raised him, Houston Henderson. He is survived by his wife, Deborah Tepe of Canadian ,TX; two daughters, Grace and Anna Tepe both of Canadian, TX; one sister, Belinda Crosier and husband Don of Edmond, OK; his step mother, Susie Tepe of Pampa, TX and his aunt, Mary Lee Slavin of Higgins, TX. A scholarship fund has been set up for Grace and Anna Tepe in care of First State Bank of Canadian, P.O. Box 928, Canadian, TX 79014.
