Bob Jeffries

Services for Bob Jeffries, 79, of Mesa, AZ, formerly of Memphis, TX, will be at 11:00 AM on Sunday, February 12, 2006 at Hughs Memorial Chapel in Memphis, TX. Family members will conduct the service. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Memphis, TX. Arrangements are under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home in Memphis, Texas. Mr. Jeffries passed away on Monday, February 6, 2006 in Mesa, AZ. He was born on June 19, 1926 in Amarillo, TX to the late W.E. Jeffries and Vesta (Young) Jeffries. He was raised in Memphis, TX and attended Memphis High School. He joined the United States Air Force in 1949 and served until 1950. He also served as a Merchant Marine. Mr. Jeffries married Dollie Rousseau on April 13, 1952 in Memphis, TX. He worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator in the construction of power plants. He spent most of his life in the southwest, including New Mexico, Texas, Nevada and Arizona, moving to Mesa in 1971. Mr. Jeffries was a member of the Elk's Lodge. He is survived by his wife Dollie of Mesa, AZ; one son, Reggie Jeffries and wife Brenda of Gilbert, AZ; twin daughters, Jeanette Redley and husband Darrel of Santa Maria, CA; and Jeanine Eagar and husband Jim of Litchfield Park, AZ; one brother, Buster Jeffries of Amarillo, TX; two sisters, Dorothy Woodard of Aztek, NM; and Maydel Yeakley of Searcy, AR; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
