Elizabeth Clyde Milligan Reynolds, age 94, died Feb. 28, 2015 in Canadian, TX. Services will be Friday, March 6, at 2 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church of Canadian, TX with Rev. Danny Sanders, officiating. Graveside services will be Monday, March 9, at 1 P.M. in Greenville Cemetery in Greenville, MS under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Elizabeth was born February 14, 1921 in Lowndes County, MS to the late Mr. William Milligan and Mrs. Lovis (Redus) Milligan. She graduated from Marks High School in Marks, MS, and received her BA in 1942 from Mississippi State College for Women (Columbus, MS). She taught school in Alabama before working for Delta Airlines in Jackson, MS. In 1949, she married the love of her life E.B. Reynolds, Jr. of Greenville, MS. The couple lived in Gloster, MS before relocating to Houston, TX. In Houston, Elizabeth worked in the registrar’s office of Rice University. Her interests included: singing in the church choir; serving in the United Methodist Women organization; Bible study class:reading and collecting books; playing the piano; and caring for friends and family and her beloved cats. The Reynolds moved from Houston to Canadian, TX in 2003. Elizabeth is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, E.B. Reynolds, Jr.; two sisters, Eleanor Word Milligan and Mary Lynn Milligan Younger; and two brothers, J.W. Mayfield and Aubrey Mayfield. She is survived by her large family; nephew, Allen Hadaway and wife Christina of Canadian, TX and their children; nieces, Ann Aldinger and husband Jack and Susan Hanlon of Memphis, TN; and nephews, Bill Hadaway and wife Ann of Tulsa, OK; Sam Pepper of Anchorage, AK; and John Pepper of Huntington, TN. The surviving Mulligan family members include; brother, George Mayfield and wife Betty; niece Cynthia Younger Heron; three nephews -William Allen Younger, John Franklin Younger, and Gregory Lynn Younger. “Aunt Titaw” also leaves: two great-nieces, Sarah Lynn Heron Davis and Amanda Lee Heron Zamora; great-nephew, Casey Wayne Heron; great-great niece, Haylee Davis; and great-great nephew, Troy Davis. A true woman of God, Elizabeth trusted God’s will and walked secure in the knowledge that His timing is perfect in every instance.
