Graveside services for Mr. Tom Bob Harrison, 91, of Memphis, TX, will be at 3:00 PM Saturday, December 6, 2008 at Fairview Cemetery in Memphis, TX, with Rev. Robert G. Blum, Pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home in Memphis, Texas. Mr. Harrison passed away Friday, December 5, 2008 in Childress, TX. He was born October 11, 1917 in Memphis, TX to the late Mr. Thomas Mann Harrison and Mrs. Alberta “Peaches” Granberry Harrison. He was a 1936 graduate of Memphis High School and went on to graduate from the University of Texas A&M in 1941 with a degree in Economics. While attending the University he was a member of the golf team and played trumpet in the band. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He worked as a manufacture representative in the electrical industry. Tom Bob was a lifetime member of the Republican Party and has served as past chairman, precinct chairman and was a charter member of the Republican National Committee. He also served for many years on the Memphis Country Club Board, member of the USGA and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne Jamison and a special friend June Leary. He is survived by one son, Bryant Harrison and wife Trisha of Austin, TX; one daughter, Jami Harrison of Sacramento, CA; four grandchildren, William Harrison of Thailand; Kristianna Harrison of Tempe, AZ; Andria Harrison of Austin, TX; Jesse Broadley of Sacramento, CA; and one great-grandson, Nolan Harrison of Austin, TX. The family suggests memorials be made to the Fairview Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 265, Memphis, TX 79245.
