Boyd Huff

Graveside services for Boyd Huff, 85, of Briscoe, TX will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery in Canadian with Rev. Michael Price, officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Boyd passed away Friday, January 30, 2015 in Canadian, TX. Boyd was born August 25, 1929 in Canadian, TX to the late Mr. Steve Huff and Mrs. Sallie (Young) Huff. He attended grammar school at Cataline and was a 1946 graduate of Allison High School. He then went on and attended West Texas State University in Canyon, TX. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict. He married Ellen Flewelling on June 13, 1953 in Canadian. She preceded him in death on November 17, 1995. He later married Frances Sprowls on March 30, 2001. She preceded him in death on June 27, 2013. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Allison. Boyd was a lifelong rancher and a member of the Canadian Masonic Lodge # 855. He was preceded in death by his two grandchildren, Harper and Catherine Huff. Boyd was survived by four sons, John Huff and wife Angie and Walker Huff all of Briscoe, TX; Clint Huff and wife Amy of Allison, TX; Dan Huff and wife Candace of Meade, KS; two sisters, Frances Morrison of Pampa, TX; Patsy Wright of Amarillo, TX; 7 grandchildren, Celeste Rutledge and husband Tommy of Kingsport, TN; Matthew Huff and wife Bronwyn of Briscoe, TX; Vanessa Huff of Denton, TX; Andrew and Rachel Huff both of Allison, TX; Cade and Corbyn Carr both of Meade, KS; 5 great-grandchildren, Travis Huff of Briscoe, TX; Ellis Rutledge of Kingsport, TN; Jack Huff of Briscoe, TX; Olivia and Silas Rutledge both of Kingsport, TN and a host of nephews. Family suggests memorials may be made to the Hemphill County Hospice, 1020 South 4th St., Canadian, TX 79014.
