Services for Jesse Reese Miller, age 77 of Amarillo, TX and formerly of Canadian, TX, will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, November 28, 2008 at Abundant Life Assembly of God Church in Canadian, TX, with Justin Coleman, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be at 2 PM on Saturday, November 29, 2008 in Kingston, OK. Arrangements are under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home in Canadian. Mr. Miller passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 in Amarillo, TX. He was born on February 19, 1931 in Mead, OK to the late Claud and Pearl (Reese) Miller. He grew up in Kingston, OK where he attended school. He and Jo Ann (Weaver) were married on January 15, 1951 in Ardmore, Oklahoma, and they moved to Canadian in 1960 where they remained until February 2008 when they moved to Amarillo. Mr. Miller was a member of the Abundant Life Assembly of God Church in Canadian where he served as a deacon. He was a welder, and retired from the Santa Fe Railroad in 1993. In addition to enjoying music and playing several instruments, he was a talented metal artist and an avid outdoorsman and hunter. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Doris Herron. He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann; two sons, James Miller and wife Jana, and Jesse Miller and wife Jill, all of Amarillo, TX; one brother, Cecil Miller and wife Mohata of Denison, TX; two sisters, Evelyn Nance and husband Britt of Mt. Vernon, TX, and Joyce Nunn and husband John of Ft. Worth; 4 grandchildren; Jennifer Brooks and husband Joey, Jill Urioste and husband Andrew, Clint Miller and Jaden Miller; and 4 great grandchildren. The family requests memorials be made to the Abundant Life Assembly of God Church, 310 Birch Street, Canadian, TX 79014.
