Rosary-Vigil-Prayer services for Mrs. Manuela Torres, 91, of Memphis, Texas will be at 7:00 p.m. Sunday November 2, 2008 at Hughs Memorial Chapel. Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 3, 2008 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Gregory Bunyan, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Memphis, TX under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Memphis, TX. Mrs. Torres passed away Friday, October 31, 2008 in Memphis, TX. She was born on September 19, 1917 in Victoria, TX to the late Mr. Fermin Rubio and Mrs. Maria (Fuentes) Rubio. She married William Torres Sr. in 1934 in Alice, TX. He preceded her in death on July 11, 1985. She moved to Memphis in 1960 from Robstown, TX. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by four sons, Ruben Torres, Willie Torres II, Willie Torres Jr., Israel Cantu and one daughter, Terrie Torres. She is survived by three sons, Catarino and Joe Torres both of Memphis, TX; Isidoro Torres of Amarillo, TX; seven daughters, Maria Benevides of Robstown, TX; Margarita Marines of Memphis, TX; Lydia Aleman of Houston, TX; Janie Casas of Amarillo, TX; Esperanza Flores of Portland, OR; Maria Hacker of Galveston, TX; Rosalinda Hilla of Marina, MI; 43 grandchildren, 76 great-grandchildren, 19 great-great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-great-grandchildren.
