Aileen Holt

Services for Aileen Holt, 89, of Memphis, TX will be at 1:00 PM Monday, September 22, 2008 at the Travis Baptist Church in Memphis, TX, with Rev. Johnnie Snider, Pastor, and Heath Holt, grandson of Mrs. Holt, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Memphis, Texas. Mrs. Holt passed away Friday, September 19, 2008 in Childress, TX. Aileen was born on January 13, 1919 in Hall County, TX to the late Mr. and Mrs. William and Silla (Saffel) Whitfield. She was a longtime resident of Memphis, having attended several different schools in Hall County. She married Herbert “Hub” Holt, and he preceded her in death on December 18, 2003. She was a member of the Travis Baptist Church where she had attended since 1969. She was also preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by two sons, Dennis Holt and Charles Holt; one daughter, Nila Scott; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Fairview Cemetery, PO Box 265, Memphis, TX 79245.
