Graveside services for Georgia Leigh Isaacs, 91, of Canadian, TX will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 15, 2014 at the Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery with Ben Mathers officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Georgia Leigh passed away at home in the presence of family on Thursday, September 11, 2014 in Canadian, TX. Georgia Leigh was born April 7, 1923 in Mobeetie, Texas to the late Rufus Parks Morris, Sr. and Maxine (Ellis) Morris. At a young age, her family moved to Canadian, Texas, where she graduated from high school in 1941. She attended North Texas Women’s College in Denton, Texas for one year, and then returned to Canadian, where she worked as a secretary at Bartlett’s Lumber and then as a bank teller at the First National Bank. She married David Quentin Isaacs Sr. on February 14, 1945 in Amarillo, Texas, and thereafter was a wonderful homemaker for her husband and children. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, and, after marriage, attended the First Presbyterian Church. She was a long-time member of the Women’s Bridge Club in Canadian and enjoyed many happy times with her friends. Georgia Leigh loved her family above all and did everything in her power to watch over, help and encourage them. She is preceded in death by her brother Rufus Parks Morris, Jr. and her sister Glenna Schultz. She is survived by her husband, David Quentin Isaacs Sr. of Canadian; her sons David Quentin Isaacs Jr. and wife Ann, and William Calvin Isaacs and wife Valerie of Canadian; her sister Carrie Lou Riley of Amarillo; four grandchildren, David Quentin Isaacs III of Canadian, Anna Heather Isaacs of Austin, Thomas William Isaacs and fiancée Anna Glowacki and Leah Rachelle Isaacs, all of Bozeman, Montana. She is also survived by a very special group of caregivers who have given their time, skills, patience, and love to her for the past 3 years. The family suggests memorials be to Hemphill County Hospice, 1020 South 4th St., Canadian, Texas, 79014.
