Graveside services for Yolanda F. Kelley, 88, of Canadian, TX will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Matthew McCurley, officiating and Bill Hobdy, assisting. Burial will follow under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Yolanda went home to be with her Lord on Monday, August 4, 2014 in Canadian, TX. Yolanda was born March 24, 1926 in Waurika, OK to the late Mr. Tanner Dean and Mrs. Anna Belle (Foster) Dean. She attended schools in Waurika, OK. She married J.W. Curtis II in August of 1943 in Oklahoma. He preceded her in death in November of 1949. While living in Canadian she worked for the City of Canadian as city clerk and later was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Canadian. She later moved to Rogers, AR where she became a member of the First Baptist Church. While living in Rogers she was a faithful member of Woman’s Missionary Union, Sunday school teacher for senior adult women, she was a music member of the senior choir. She was a volunteer for the Rogers Women’s Shelter Retail Store. Yolanda moved back to Canadian in March of 2012. She was preceded in death by her son, Johnny Curtis III, two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Vonda Robbins and husband Keith of Canadian, TX; her brother, Lawrence Dean and wife Sylvia of Kansas City, MO; her sister, Jeanie Weyerts and husband Dale of Greeley, CO; her daughter-in-law, Jeanne Curtis of Canadian, TX; four grandchildren, Chad Robbins and wife Tara of Fuquay-Varina, NC; Camie Robbins Holland and husband Chad of Childress, TX; Joel Robbins and wife Sheila of Arlington, TX; Ryan Curtis of Oklahoma City, OK; 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to First Baptist Church, 706 Main, Canadian, TX or Edward Abraham Memorial Home, 803 Birch St., Canadian, TX 79014.
