A Celebration of Life for Zach Monty, 19, of Canadian, TX will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the Canadian Wildcat Gymnasium with Cory Campbell, officiating. Burial will follow in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Zach passed away Sunday, June 29, 2014. Zach was born May 1, 1995 in Midwest City, OK to Max Monty and Lee Ann (Lawson) Monty. He was a 2014 graduate of Canadian High School. His plans were to attend Texas State University in San Marcus, TX in the fall. He moved to Canadian, TX in September of 2007 from Oklahoma City, OK. During his four years in high school he was involved in the National Honor Society, Cross Examination Debate, One Act Play, Canadian Cyber Cats Robotics Program, Students Against Destructive Decisions, Student Council and FCA. During his freshman and sophomore years he was also involved in JV Football, JV Track and Tennis his sophomore and junior year. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was employed at Bartlett’s Ace Hardware and a certified lifeguard at the Canadian City Pool. There was never a day that went by that he didn’t listen to some kind of music. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ronnie Lawson and his grandmother, Beverly Teel. He is survived by his parents, Max and Lee Ann Monty of Canadian, TX; his brothers, Joshua and Micah Monty both of Canadian, TX; his sister, Tylee Monty of Canadian, TX; his grandparents, Della Lawson of Liberal, KS; Bobby Ujhley of Las Vegas, NV; Max and Mary Monty of El Paso, TX; his great-grandmother, Virginia Eccleston of North Palm Beach, FL; his aunts and uncles, Tim and Terri Long of Edmond, OK; Chris and Denise Janko of Beaver, OK; Jeff and Shannon Caseltine of Abilene, TX; Lance and Nancy Brooks of Elk City, OK; Jerry and Melinda Johnson of Shawnee, OK; Jonny Brooks of Pampa, TX; his cousins, Ty Williams of Arcadia, OK; Chanci Petterson of Beaver, OK; T.J.
