Memphis, TX -- Memorial Services for Lawrence Kennon, Jr., 51, of Memphis, TX, will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 10, 2005 at Grace Fellowship Church in Memphis, TX, with Rev. Dewayne Wolf officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home in Memphis, Texas. Mr. Kennon passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2005 in Childress, TX. He was born on January 19, 1954 in Memphis, TX to the late Lawrence Kennon, Sr. and Abbie (Gober) Kennon. He grew up in Memphis and graduated from Memphis High School in 1972. He attended West Texas State University and Seward County Community College. Mr. Kennon married Ann Symons on July 11, 1994 in Clovis, NM. He lived in Memphis most of his life. He was a master carpenter. Mr. Kennon was active in the Boy Scouts of America, and was an Eagle Scout. He was also very active in his church, Grace Fellowship Church in Memphis, TX. He worked at Hall County Farm Supply. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patsy Youree in September of 2004. He is survived by his wife Ann of Memphis, TX; one son, Jon Boone of Coatesville, PA; four daughters, Lesha Ervin of Cypress, TX; Andrea Salinas of Memphis, TX; Theresa Glassey of Pampa, TX; and Christy Kennon of Amarillo, TX; four sisters, Betty Jarrell of Childress, TX; Jo Ann Williamson of Panhandle, TX; Shirley Dunn of Clovis, NM; and Carolene Young of Blackfoot, ID; and thirteen grandchildren.
