Rosary services for Eugenia Byard, 74, of Canadian, Texas will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, June 22, 2008 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 23, 2008 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Mitch, Officiating. Burial will be in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Mrs. Byard passed away Thursday, June 19, 2008 in Canadian, TX. She was born on February 20, 1934 in Fredericksburg, TX to the late Mr. Albert Weinheimer and Mrs. Theresa (Stehling) Weinheimer. She attended grammar school at Rocky Hill in Fredericksburg and was a graduate of Groom High School. She married Ray Byard on November 28, 1953 in Groom, TX. They moved to Canadian, TX in 1972 from Ulysses, KS. Eugenia was the activity director for 22 years at the Edward Abraham Memorial Home. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the altar society. She is preceded in death by two brother-in-laws, Joseph Dickey and Jack Quirk. She is survived by her husband, Ray Byard of Canadian, TX; four sons, Stephen Byard and wife Shelly of Midland, TX; Ryan Byard and wife Jana of Memphis, TX; Mark Byard and wife Melinda of Amarillo, TX; John Byard and wife Kelli of Barberton, OH; two daughters, Regina Russell and husband Jimmy of Canadian, TX; Stephanie Francis and husband Glenn of College Station, TX; two brothers, James Weinheimer and wife Janice, Patrick Weinhheimer and wife Maggie all of Groom, TX; three sisters, Kathleen Dickey of Pampa, TX; Antonette Quirk of Amarillo, TX; Teresa Swiger and husband Phil of Bedford, TX; 17 grandchildren, Tiffany Barter and husband Casey of Borger, TX; Angie Hawkins and husband Joel of Canadian, TX; Branden Francis of Tucson, AZ; Sara Phares and husband Robert of Austin, TX; Lance Russell and Kayla Russell both of Pauls Valley, OK; Willie Nofire of Fritch, TX; Kyler Oles of College Station, TX; Brandon Russell of Canadian, TX; Joshua Byard of Midland, TX; Jacob Francis and Katelyn Francis both of College Station, TX; Justin Byard of Midland, TX; Avery Byard of Memphis, TX; Dominic Byard and Aaron Byard both of Barberton, OH; Karsen Byard of Memphis, TX; 3 great-grandchildren, Dakota Phares of Austin, TX; Brodon Russell of Pauls Valley, OK and Brenner Hawkins of Canadian, TX. The body will lie in state at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Sunday, June 22, 2008.
