Graveside services for Alvin Steinle, 86, of Canadian, TX will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the Higgins Cemetery with Gary Jahnel, officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Alvin passed away Thursday, October 31, 2013 in Canadian, TX. Alvin was born February 12, 1927 in Ellis County, OK to the late Mr. Fred Steinle and Mrs. Alice (Kraft) Steinle. He was a 1945 graduate of Bishop High School in Bishop, OK. He was a Veteran on the United States Army serving in World War II. He married Joye Davenport on February 12, 1947 in Higgins, TX. She preceded him in death on November 24, 2009. Alvin was a farmer and a rancher. Later in life he worked in the oilfield. He was preceded in death by two sons, Roger Dale Steinle and James Anthony Steinle and one sister, Pearl Stucker. He is survived by two sons, Kenneth Ray Steinle of Canadian, TX; David Michael Steinle of Fritch, TX; two daughters, Lelia Diane Farquharson of Pittsburg, PA; Marchetta Dea Wilmeth of Hobart, OK; two brothers, Harold Steinle and wife Norlene of Amarillo, TX; Floyd Steinle and wife Virginia of Clovis, NM; one sister, Laveta Estrada of Bethany, OK; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to Hemphill County Hospice, 1020 South 4th St., Canadian, TX 79014.
